Divinity Prayers Catholic

Divinity Prayers – 1

How great is your name, O Lord our God, through all the earth!

When I see the heavens, the work of your hands, the moon and the stars which you arranged, what are we that you should keep us in mind, men and women that you care for us?

Yet you have made us little less than gods; and crowned us with glory and honour, gave us power over the works of your hands, put all things under our feet.

How great is your name, O Lord our God through all the earth!

Divinity Prayers – 2

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless
and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us
and increase Your mercy in us,
that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent,
but with great confidence
submit ourselves to Your holy will,
which is Love and Mercy itself.
Amen.

Divinity Prayers – 3

O Lord, open Thou my mouth that I may bless Thy Holy Name;
cleanse my heart from all vain, evil, and wandering
thoughts;
enlighten my understanding;
kindle my affections, that I may worthily, attentively,
and devoutly recite this office,
and may deserve to be heard before
the presence of Thy divine Majesty.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Divinity Prayers – 4

O Lord, open Thou my mouth that I may bless Thy Holy Name;
cleanse my heart from all vain, evil, and wandering
thoughts;
enlighten my understanding;
kindle my affections, that I may worthily, attentively,
and devoutly recite this office,
and may deserve to be heard before
the presence of Thy divine Majesty.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Divinity Prayers – 5

Most holy Trinity, Godhead indivisible, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Our first beginning and our last end, You have made us in accord with your own image and likeness. Grant that all the thoughts of our minds, All the words of our tongues, All the affections of our hearts, And all the actions of our being may always be conformed to your holy Will.

Thus, after we have seen here below in appearances and in a dark manner by means of faith, We may come at last to contemplate you face-to face in the perfect possession of you Forever in heaven.
Amen.

Divinity Prayers – 6

O Lord, behold here before You a soul who exists in this world in order to allow You to exercise Your admirable mercy and manifest it before heaven and earth. Others may glorify You through their faithfulness and perseverance, thus making evident the power of Your grace. How sweet and generous You are to those who are faithful to You!
Nevertheless, I will glorify You by acquainting others of Your goodness to sinners and by reminding them that Your mercy is above all malice, that nothing can exhaust it, and that no relapse, no matter how shameful or criminal, should allow the sinner to despair of forgiveness.
I have offended You grievously, O Beloved Redeemer, but it would be still worse if I were to offend You by thinking that You were lacking in goodness to forgive me. I would rather He deprive me of everything else than the trust I have in Your Mercy.
Should I fall a hundred times or should my crimes be a hundred times worse than they actually are, I would continue to trust in Your mercy.
Amen.

WISDOM of the Sacred Head, guide me in all my ways.
O Love of the Sacred, consume me with Thy fire.
Three Glorias, in honour of the Divine Will, Memory and Understanding.
O Seat of Divine Wisdom, and guiding Power, which governs all the motions and love of the Sacred Heart, may all minds know Thee, all hearts love Thee, and all tongues praise Thee, now and for evermore. Amen.

Divinity Prayers – 8

You expired, O Jesus,
but the source of life gushed forth for souls
and an ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world.
O Fount of Life,
unfathomable Divine Mercy,
envelop the whole world
and empty Yourself out upon us.
O Blood and Water,
which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus
as a fount of mercy for us,
I trust in You.
Amen.
